The FAST® Power Rankings Presented by COMP Cams® USMTS/USRA Power Rankings
By: Sam Stoecklin
Johnny Scott picked up win numbers six and seven on the year over the weekend in Northern USMTS action and holds firm atop this week's USMTS/USRA FAST® Power Rankings Presented by COMP Cams for a fourth time this season! To say that 'J' Scott had a strong weekend is an understatement as the only time he wasn't in the winner's circle he was runner-up to the only other weekend winner on the USMTS Tour.
Johnny rolled to victories at Nobles County Speedway and Devlis Lake Speedway and in between those runs, advanced from 17th on the grid at Brown County Speedway in South Dakota, where he was runner-up to Zack VanderBeek. Rodney Sanders had somewhat of a quiet weekend for his three-race USMTS swing with a pair of sixth-place finishes along the way for his best of the weekend and holds at number two this week.
Sitting in third position again this week is former number one Jake O'Neil who finished the weekend with a fourth-place run as his best of the USMTS northern swing. VanderBeek moves back into fourth-place after recording his fourth USMTS win of the year in South Dakota.
Darron Fuqua slips to fifth this weekend but not for lack of effort, the current USRA point's leader earned his 13th win of the season by taking his fourth win at Lakeside Speedway on Friday, then finished runner-up at Central Missouri Speedway in the $5,000-to-win BBQ Bowl, where he ran out of laps on Saturday.
Tyler Wolff returns to the top ten this week after picking up the victory to kick off last weekend's events at Tri-State Speedway, he later added a top-ten run on Saturday at Salina Highbanks Speedway on Saturday. Bumper Jones re-enters the top 20 this week after notching a $4,000-to-win victory in New Mexico on Saturday while Troy Taylor also returns to the top 20 after a runner-up finish on Saturday at Devil's Bowl Speedway.
Idle competitors Ryan Gilmore and Dustin Sorensen fall out of the top 20 this week as our voting staff recognized 31 different drivers for their weekend results, down one from last week's 32. The list of drivers earning voting recognition but missing out on the top 20 includes Sorensen, Gilmore Wesley Veal, Southern New Mexico Speedway runner-up Jake Gallardo, Jacob Bleess, Josh Angst, Chris Clark, Jason Hughes, R.C. Whitwell, Ricky Thornton Jr., and Royal Jones.
USMTS competitors have the weekend off before returning the following week for action across Iowa and into Nebraska for the Silver Dollar Nationals. TOMS drivers return to action this weekend at Southern New Mexico Speedway while several USRA tracks hold Independence Day special events throughout the week and weekend.

The USMTS/USRA FAST® Power Rankings Presented by COMP Cams will take next week off but we will return with an all-new top 20 the following week on Wednesday, July 18th with double the results for our voting staff to sort through.
