The FAST® Power Rankings Presented by COMP Cams® USMTS/USRA Power Rankings
By: Sam Stoecklin
Another quiet week for the touring cars but that didn't keep drivers from participating throughout the country in various special events and USRA action. It was a week that will be more remembered for Jason Hughes' crash and a time where many people were thankful for the safety features on race cars after the incident.

Zack VanderBeek once again holds on to the number one spot after the weekend action. It is VanderBeek's fourth-consecutive week at the pinnacle the USMTS/USRA FAST® Power Rankings Presented by COMP Cams. The Z-Man reeled off a pair of top-five finishes in northern-based events.

The USMTS tour is set to resume on Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at Luxemburg Speedway, which kicks off a four-race Wisconsin swing. Cade Dillard holds on to the number two spot one week after taking a feature win in the south land at Sabine Speedway.

R.C. Whitwell continues his rise toward the top of the heap as he moves into the third-place position this week after claiming the Thunderbird win after Hughes's and Wolff's violent crash. Ryan Gustin continued to sit idle and slips to number four this week, one spot ahead of the aforementioned Hughes' who holds onto the top five at number five.

Bumper Jones will try to make it six wins in a row at Southern New Mexico Speedway and sits firmly in the number six spot one spot ahead of a re-surging Rodney Sanders at number seven, up from the number 13 spot last week. Sanders claimed a huge win at Deer Creek during the Gopher 50 weekend as he took the win over 41 cars.

USRA stalwart Jason Cummins sits in the number 8 spot this week after another full week of action and two more runner-up finishes. Ricky Thornton, Jr., and Stormy Scott were idle over the weekend but fill out the top ten at positions number nine and ten.

Elsewhere on the rankings, Tyler Wolff leaps from number 19 to number 13 this week after bouncing back from the Thunderbird crash to victory lane at Lucas Oil Speedway on Saturday night. Logan Robertson continues his rise in the USRA ranks and this week makes an appearance on the top 20 as he comes flying in at number 14, he is currently second in the USRA national points.

Mark Fluffy Dotson continues his resurgence and is ranked number 16 as he makes an appearance after two more victories at I-35 Speedway and U.S. 36 Raceway over the weekend. Josh Angst is the other new driver of the week as he reappears on the rankings at number 20 after some solid performances in the top 10 up north.

Falling out of the top 20 this week are Joe Duvall, Trevor Latham, and Terry Schultz. All total 34 drivers made the rankings this week, the same number as last week. Drivers also earning votes this week included: Keith Foss, Joe Duvall, Keith Foss, Trevor Latham, Aaron Marrant, Matt Dotson, Robbie Reed, Cory Crapser, Jackie Dalton, Jake Gallardo, Jacob Bleess, Zane DeVilbiss, Phillip Houston, and Johnny Bone, Jr.

Be sure to check back again next Wednesday when an all-new Power Rankings to see who comes out on top, the USMTS will return to action this week with a series of Wisconsin dates, which are sure to shake up the rankings. USRA action will continue to heat up as the top of the points are starting to take shape as we get a glimpse of who may come away as title contenders as we work our way through the heart of summer.
