The FAST® Power Rankings Presented by COMP Cams® USMTS/USRA Power Rankings
By: Sam Stoecklin

Cade Dillard leads the way for a third-consecutive week and sixth week overall on this week's edition of the USMTS/USRA FAST® Power Rankings Presented by COMP Cams. While most of his contemporaries were inactive this week after a grueling  after the KOA weekend, Dillard tallied up a runner-up finish to Chris Henigan at RPM Speedway in Texas. Dillard swept the number one rankings from all voting staff this week.

While many tracks and drivers were idle last week due to weather-related cancellations or just otherwise taking time off after the KOA, there were a few events held throughout the lower part of the Midwest. This week a pair of new voters also shake up the dynamics of the outcome of this week's rankings.

Ryan Gustin maintains the number two ranking with Ricky Thornton, Jr., rebounding to the number three slot. Put Thornton on any track in about anything and he will be a front-runner, that pretty much wraps up the sentiment of the voters. Jason Hughes holds steady in the top tier at the number four position while Johnny Scott sits in the number five slot.

Rodney Sanders has more than hinted around at his desire to pull the late model to tracks and with the super late model series getting ready to fire up in full swing in the heartland he will likely be a rare sighting in mod events to come, except when the money's on the line, where he will no doubt be up front. Sanders sits in sixth this week just ahead of Stormy Scott, Zack VanderBeek, Mitch Keeter, and Lucas Schott to round out the top ten.

Outside of the top ten there wasn't much movement and only one new entry this week as Fito Gallardo re-enters at number 20 replacing Troy Taylor on the rankings.

Additional drivers receiving votes this week were: Triston Dycus, Troy Taylor, Dustin Strand, RC Whitwell, Jackie Dalton, Thomas Tillison, Jr.,  Tommy Fain, Brad Dierks, James Thompson, Kent Arment, and Logan Robertson.

We will look for a dryer weather pattern to settle in over the next few weeks as many USRA weekly tracks start coming to life in the next part of April. Be sure to heck back again next Wednesday when we return with another edition of the USMTS/USRA FAST® Power Rankings Presented by COMP Cams!

RankPriorDriver Name
11Cade Dillard
Great start in 2017 May be the driver to beat this year. Leads Southern and Central Region. I agree with Cade being #1. He's had a spectacular year and he's hungry for that national title.
22Ryan Gustin
KING… Ryan will be tough for the rest of the season with Jason and Ryan throwing ideas around on these Hughes Chassis. Good start for the Reaper. He and Hughes make a great team KOA - made it happen.
35Ricky Thornton, Jr.
Put him in any car he will drive the hell out of it. Second in Southern Region 3 USMTS wins so far.
44Jason Hughes
Fourth in the Southern Region. Good start - a good partner for Gustin. I rank Hughes a little lower because he's struggled at times, but never count him out of any race.
54Johnny Scott
Johnny has had a good year and he will get some more victories with the new GRT's.
68Rodney Sanders
This might be to high as I believe Rodney will be too concentrated on his late model but Rodney is a great driver and he will prevail at any race.
77Stormy Scott
Stormy is hungry for some wins this year. He will be right there in the end.
89Zack VanderBeek
Watch for this steady driver to win a few in his new chassis when he figures it out. He'll get these Vanderbuilt chassis dialed in eventually to pick up a W. In the meantime he's consistent.
910Mitch Keeter
Humboldt Speedway will be begging for someone to beat this kid in the middle of the year. After his big USMTS win, who will beat him? You guessed it not very many people!
108Lucas Schott
Lucas is a wheelman, how could you put him outside of the top 3 ever? Driver needs some major sponsor to go on the road. A factor when he shows up with USMTS.
1112Jake Gallardo
He will get wins at the SNMS. Keep your eye on this kid.
1213Chris Brown
Missing the king didn't help his cause, but he's had a great year and I look for Chris to come back in full force and run towards the front.
1311Dereck Ramirez
Dereck has had a fair year so far. I would like to see a little more from Dereck before I move him up on the list.
1415Jake Timm
Very impressive win first night out in his new MBCustom. Jake will have a great year and pick up some wins in 2017.
1516Philip Houston
Philip has been up and down but I look for Philip to get the ole 71 dialed in at some point. He will be running with the TOMS Series a lot, I look for a few wins there.
Tie17Terry Phillips
The Missouri veteran is always in the hunt.
1714Josh Angst
Waiting for warmer breezes to make their way to the north country.
1819Jesse Sobbing
Could this be one of the last weekend's we'll see Sobbing in the Mod ranks?
1918Travis Saurer
Missed the KOA, but has been very impressive with the USMTS during the Southern Region swing.
20NewFito Gallardo
He will get wins at the SNMS and will be there at the final stretch to keep his peers looking over their shoulders as he sneaks in for the attack.
