JOHN ALLEN WINS MODIFIED FEATURE IN "OFFICIAL" 2012 OPENER AT HUMBOLDT SPEEDWAY!

Humboldt KS (04/06/12) John Allen blasted his way into the record books Friday night at Humboldt Speedway by winning the first "official" USRA modified feature of 2012 at Humboldt Speedway.
Winning the race gives Allen the official points lead for the young season. Allen's closest nemisis was runner up Whitey Folk; the duo were tied for the lead at several points. Still, Allen proved to be stronger off the corners in holding Folk to second. Jess Folk, Jr. tallied the third spot, holding Scott Daniels and Brian Bolin at bay.

Factory Stocks took to the track for the very first time this season, with 15 cars in the field. Scott Stuart led early before suffering apparent left front suspension damage, and Ethan Lamons served notice that he will be a dominant force this season, winning the feature event. With Stuart in second, Derrek Wilson turned in a strong third place finish. Tim Phillips came from dead last to claim fourth, and Carl Lewis, from Claremore, OK took fifth. Keep an eye on this division, race fans, it's going to be fierce!

Veteran Driver Jack Simmons continues to thrive behind the wheel of Ray Maloney's #62 USRA B-Mod, winning this weeks feature event, taking serious heat from runner up Jeremy Chambers. Trevor Hunt, the 13 year old sensation from Kearney, NE, returned to the speedway after his spectacular King of America win to claim third. Fourth fell to Riley Whitworth, while Jimmie Davis was fifth.
Meanwhile, the Pure Stock juggernaut that is Jeremy Willard rolls on with an impressive feature win. Levi Phillips was second, with derek Michael third. Newcomer Jarrid Johnson finished fourth, Stetson Deets was fifth.
Action continues Friday nights, gates open at 6pm, with racing at 8:00.
